Default HELP ASAP!

im building my engine back up, and when torquing my main seal back down (9ftlbs) 2 bolts snapped..
IM SUPER PISSED.
do you think its okay if i have to bolts broken holding the main seal on? its got liquid gasket all the way down and its fairly tight on there.

or do you think i should dis-assemble everything and get the machine shop to take the snapped bolts out..

HELP! PISSED OFF!

damn,,, do it right and disassemble and have the machine shop take it out. because when ever you want to push the engine your always going to wonder if its going to leak from the main seal. which means pulling the trans , clutch, etc off to see if thats the problem.

thats what i would do..

were you using an inch or ftlb meter? most ftlb torque wrenches arent accurate that low.

and i would take it to the machine shop, no point ******* it up more.

not sure if 9lbs is the correct torque, but if the book says that then ok, just hand tighten it. 9lbs is not that tight anyway, hand tight then just alittle more should be sufficient.

you might also see if your dealership will helicoil it for you. i had a 68 dodge charger with a 454 hemi. that i stripped an engine bolt, and they were able to helicoil it. just look at all options you have.
