GUARANTEED way to increase your horsepower in 10 minutes!... Seafoam
Haha, this was a funny thread to come back and read. I definitely don't recommend using seafoam EVER FOR ANY REASON, PERIOD. It will blow your piston rings out definitely. Warning given, lesson learned the hard way.
If you use a metric shitload of it, yeah, it'll break things. Third of a can in the fuel, third of a can in the oil, third of a can in the intake 50 miles before your next oil change once a year and it won't do any harm.
lol...this thread is comical to say the least....... We used seafoam for injector fogging and crankcase cleaning over 15 years ago in the shop I worked in. Never did I see it eat piston rings, or blow motors. I chalk this up to an engine that was poorly taken care of and already had issues and/or a missus of a good product. It's been in use since the 30's......

Question is, why where they using it in the first place? Did they think it was going to fix an issue that they were having, or did they think the more they used the more HP they were going to get...lol That is how I see a lot of people misuse this product.
Again it seems like 99.9% of the blown motors are using this product as a scape goat!

People that complain about seafoam paid no fn attention to their cars, their condition, and any required follow ups.
I've used seafoam in my civic, my sisters civic, and any old lawnmower I've used. It does it job very well and there is NO risk to using seafoam if you have common sense.
Seafoam in your gas helps clean deposits, seafoam in your vacuum helps clean desposits, seafoam in your oil breaks down all that excess carbon build up.
After putting seafoam in your oil it is RECOMMENDED TO CHANGE YOUR OIL within a couple hundred miles MAX. Any bad seals you had where gunked up oil/carbon deposits helped seal will now be exposed. So you'll notice leaks if you have any bad seals.
Do not dump seafoam, then drive normal for however long you please, it doesn't work that way.
i've never had a problem with seafoam and I recommend it all the time.

Hah! So because those people don't use seafoam we neglect our motors? How is that possible? I had a 95 integra with a high compression b20b and all I did was regular maintenance with ONLY oem parts. Ran find and I sold for less. I now drive an em1 with the same motor setup and still running fine. No idle issues or loss of power. Awesome by the way.
some people love it
some people hate it
I personally wouldnt use it, dont care if anyone else does, or doesnt use it.
/thread.

the op which used seafoam and is pretty much blaming the product for his incompetence is lame.
