different tire sizes for 15" wheel
i'm buying another set of drag radials and i was wondering on which size to get
both are bfg g-force 225/50/15 or they just came out w/ 235/60/15 would the 235's fit on my rota wheels and not rub that much or would they be a bitch |

the 235 60 15 is gonna be huge compared to the 225 50 15. its gonna be wider and taller

you should be able to squeeze the 235/60 on the the rim (assuming its atleast 6.5" wide) w/o any probs. but 235's wont tuck under your fenders
|
Re: (dantastic)
hahaha yeah
the wheels are 15x6.5 rota slipstreams my suspension is spax rsx full coilovers and stainless lines the main reason for these tires is because i can't afford slicks right now and my turbosetup will be on the car in about a week or 2 |
The car is going to have to be jacked up pretty high to get 235's under there. Also that is a gigantic tire to put on a 6.5in wide wheel. I would just go with 225 at the most. The 235 are gonna rub everywhere if you decide to turn the car very much at all.

Re: (electronb16si)
yeah
i have just decided to get the 225/50/15's that way they wont' rub as much |
you should be fine...I saw 255-50-15 on a 99-00 Si with the stock wheels at NOPI. I didn't realize it was possible. The guy said it rubbed when the wheel was turned almost all the way. I also can't find that tire size anywhere. I didn't notice what brand it was...just the enormous size!
If you want to get your calculator out and figure Tire Diameter, the only tire I have ever rubbed with was a 215-40-17 with a 1.75" drop. The 205-40-17 NEVER rubbed. |
Re: (-TRINiTRON-)
i've seen a 255/50/16 drag radials but never a 15"

I am sorry but 255 on stock wheels sounds like some BULLSHIT. I also had azenis on my 7" wide aguzzes and had a lot of rubbing issues. You could see where it rubbed all the paint off the inside of the fender where it rubbed everytime I made a U-turn or close to it. And correct me if I am wrong but aren't stock wheels only 6" wide? I don't see how it is possible to fit a 255 on that rim.

completely agree, 255/50 on 6" wheel = impossible |
