Please look everyone!

I just bought a y8 and I'm an obd0 ef guy so im a little confused on something. This motor has an electrical plug wiht 3 wires, coming off the motor inbetween the oil pan and block. Can anyone tell me what this is and if its only used by obd2 ecus or does obd1 also use it. Thanks.
Here is a little pic to help u understand.

i used a Z6 harness on my Y7 block (94 hatchback)... and i just didnt plug that harness into anything and my car runs fine

so its just an obd2 sensor you do not need. i guess its the crank position sensor but i dont know doesnt matter anyways

True, but if he's reusing his obd0 distributor and wiring, he wont need to worry about that sensor, because he has one in the distributor. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

well I know i use it with obd0, but my main concern is now im swapping to obd1 and Im hoping I wont need to use it. OBD1 doesnt use that plug correct

correct! only obd2 ecu will look for it and throw a CEL if it's not pluged up.

Hmmmmmm........I don't have mine hooked up on my D16Y8 with OBDI ecu and harness. Also using an OBDII distributor. Everything seems to work fine.
