you need to adjust them your self because i just had to have my valves adjusted when i did my timing belt swap and i watched the guy do it. He had to keep sliding a metal sheet inbetween something near the valve spring to check the gap.

Are you talking about adjusting the valve clearance? You have to do that manually. Here is how to do it on an 8 valve d15b8, but it's kind of the same on the D16Y8, just with 16 valves. http://pub161.ezboard.com/fbse...topic

The "metal sheet" is called a feeler guage.

Let me offer a couple of tips.

I found that not all valves needed to be adjusted when I did mine. Check them first and you can save a bunch of time.

Instead of turning the crank with a socket, I just lifted the driver side of the car just till the tire is off the ground. Put the car in 5th gear. Now you can turn the wheel and that will turn the crank. Easier than the method recommended on the manual.

If you can’t get HONDABOND just get the Black RTV sealer it works great I have used it several times without any problems.

Also taking out the Spark plugs will make it easier to turn over.

Have fun. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
