that looks similar to the d16y7 intake. I believe all d series manifolds are interchangeable some just require more work than others. I would do a search for a d16y8 manifold swap from the d16y7. It will probably be pretty close to what you have to do with your d14.

good luck

i have exactly the one like you saw... i want to remove it....and install somthing like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...&rd=1

does it fit gonna fit on my engine? is it better then my current manifold?

Yeah well I was under the impression that all D series manifolds were interchangable. So I believe a Y8 or a Z6 Manifold would bolt on just fine. I pretty sure you would need the throttle body also because your is a top mount style while the manifolds you want are sidemount. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

would i feel any power increase from this swap?

Re: d16 intake manifold on a d14... (RACEPAK)

I would assume you would feel a little increase seeing as it would be a better flowing manifold. I know that the d15 guys in Eg's etc swap out for the Z6 and Y8 manifolds all the time. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

you have a d14?

whats stopping you from swapping in a d15b vtec, or d16z6?? either one would be a really good powerplant!

and the potential(turbo, high compression, etc) would be much greater.

d14 non vtec turbo??? waste of money your not going to get anything out of it if you want turbo and low buget id try to get a d16y8 and save some money up and evuntual boost it you will make alot more hp out of it

i will swap the engine for a b16a2 in about 6 mounth... i dont have a tranny yet. i live in israel and its hard to get it here.

my car is currently 90hp i'm sure that with my turbo i'll get about 120-130hp....... it can be nice. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif al the parts i have now are kinda ghetto. hf manifold, ihi rhb5, smic ect. ec..

so... for my next project i will get better parts. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

^^^

do i need any kind of sealant on the intake manifold gasket?

Tad 10-03-2004 01:14 PM

yeh it'll probly be a cool setup till u get the b16,
wouldnt be suprized if it gave the b16 a run for its money actually

spyderracing 10-03-2004 02:06 PM

Re: (Tad)

Once you get that b16 ready to swap in, be sure to give that d14 a proper burial..... 20lbs of boost!

Kendall 10-03-2004 02:15 PM

The Y8 manifold is the best flowing of the OEM D series manifolds and will vastly help with the addition of the turbo, you can probably find one in the classifieds.
