BUMP STOPS?
Hey just wondering how close all of you are riding to your bump stops. Reason is I just got my 205/45/16 and lowered my car some more, and it seems like theres less then 1/2 between the top of my strut cylinder and the bottom of the bump stops. My bump stops are even cut (ground controls). Is this amount of clearance normal?

I had the same problem. What I did to give it more room, was trim all my bumpstops so they were all one inch long. It may not seem like much, but it helps. Also, it may not seem like you have much strut travel, but its good enough. I have not bottomed out at all unless its a major freaking dip or bump and I'm going too fast for it.

yeah i cut the last little notch off the end of all my stops like the grouind controls manual said, but I think your right i might have to trim another notch off so there is just that one big one at the top, anyone else?

put a ziptie on your piston rod and go drive around. try to avoid huge bumps. then look at it, and if it's up to the bump stop, you're running out of shock travel - so either raise the car up, or extend the travel: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=469485

yeah i need to increase my shock travel for sure, how bad is it for the strut to hit the bump stop? Cause im hititn them and ill be riding for this for like 4days (until i increase the travel) and i dont wanna ruin my agx's, please advise

i've never thought of that ziptie idea, but i bet its a pain to get the ziptie on there without taking the strut out. |
