brake probs
car 96 civic
old set up of stock brakes aka rear drums when brakes locked up on snow or pavement the back would lock up first now new set up 95 integra brakes all the way around with 1inch teg master cylinder. stock pads now when i lock the brakes up the front locks up and the rear rolls the brakes have been blead many times so i don't think that there is air in the lines. i was wondering what the problem could be or if there is anything i can do like auxilary proportioning valves that would leave me do some brake tuning? 96 civic dx and 99-00 civic si proportioning valves are the same part number 92-95 civic rear drums proportioning valves are 30-30 and rear disc are 40-40 what ever that means but the 96-00 drum and rear disc are the same part number. seems weird sto me though jesse |
Re: brake probs (misledyouth)
now when i lock the brakes up the front locks up and the rear rolls Now if your rear brakes aren't working at all, that's another story. |
Re: brake probs (misledyouth)
Get a 99-00 Si prop valve from honda. drums suck and have a tendancy to lock up, dont be supprised if your new disks stop you better rather than locking up and throwing the arse end everywhere...
This should take care of any other questions https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=152884 |
Re: brake probs (97GSR Hatch)
if your sig is correct then that h22a will also change your braking a bit. you are going to have more weight transfer to the front. The only way to address this would be to get stiffer springs in the front, or coilovers and adjust the ride height to reduce weight transfer to the front.

Re: brake probs (kommon_sense)
i don't have teh h22 i have a b16 now so that isnt' theproblem.
i dida track time event last year on the new brakes and the fronts seemed to get kinda hot this is another reason i want to fix this. who makes the auxilary proportioning vavles is it fastbreaks? jesse |
Re: brake probs (misledyouth)
willwood makes the proportioning valves there 40 bucks each. with a knob for tuning and the lever ones are 70 each
