A bit off topic: A 240sx brake question?

Well as you guys know I bought a 240sx for about 900 Bucks and I have sort of a little problem. Sometimes the brakes feel like they get stuck . I got some new pads for em and nothing. What usually causes this problem.

check to see if the caliper sliders are seized or need new grease. did your pads have uneven wear? is it the pedal or the actual brakeing that seems to stick?

most calipers work the same way. there's the main cylinder that applies pressure to the inside pad, and two sliders that the outside pads will slide on to apply pressure to the rotor. Sometimes those boots on the sliders get messed up and the sliders grease will dry up and won't return to the "open" status as easily. Check those sliders, clean them up and apply the correct high temp break grease. that should solve your problem. Make sure your boots are secure to avoid the issue in the future.

I hope I explained myself right and thanks for your help. The reason I think its my brakes its because the car slows down like you are very easily tapping the brake it wont roll for a long time with you pressing the gas it will slow down . Thanks for you help and ill try that.

Sliders https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

The grease is about 3 bucks from auto zone. And I do believe that you can get boot kits from them as well for not much.

An easy way to check is to remove tha pads and just try to push and pull and push the caliper. It should move with very little effort.
