B16 cam seal
 
i need to replace my cam seal
i have seen that you can just pry off the cap and replace it on the newer civics
can i do that on a b16 or do i have to remove the heagasket to replace it

The cam seal that's apart of the cam plug is i assume what you mean, not the cam seals behind the cam gears. You cannot pry it out, but no you don't need to remove the hg, why would you?

You don't have to remove the headgasket..you have to take off the cam rail and cap

i got mixed up not the headgasket...im saying would i need to remove valve cover gasket to replace the cam plug

Yes you'd need to remove the valve cover
