97 civic ex, y7 engine, y8 intake p06 ecu
Setup:
1997 Honda Civic EX y7 engine y8 engine harness y8 intake manifold p06 ecu 1 o2 sensor in header no crank position sensor PROBLEM: throws a code 1 any suggestions? BTW: not my car, dropped in the y7 just to get rid of the car |
Re: 97 civic ex, y7 engine, y8 intake p06 ecu
Code 1 should be the o2 sensor.
What kind of y8 manifold is it. Auto or Manual |
Re: 97 civic ex, y7 engine, y8 intake p06 ecu
its a manual y8 manifold

Re: 97 civic ex, y7 engine, y8 intake p06 ecu
Is the O2 sensor plugged in? If you reset the ECU does the code return?
|
Re: 97 civic ex, y7 engine, y8 intake p06 ecu
resetting the ecu works but the code comes back when attempting to start.
lol. yes the o2 sensor is plugged in. |
Re: 97 civic ex, y7 engine, y8 intake p06 ecu
97 ex, 97 ex engine harness, y8 header, o2 is in the header, NOT in the EX converter.

Re: 97 civic ex, y7 engine, y8 intake p06 ecu
What adapter are you using between the harness and the ECU? Have you verified the pins and wires are all intact? Have you made sure the plug on the O2 sensor, as well as on the engine harness are both clean and free of corrosion? Have you checked those wires?

Re: 97 civic ex, y7 engine, y8 intake p06 ecu
wires on the jumper are fine. o2 plug is fine and clean. tried 2 different o2 sensors and 2 different ecus. all same result.
|
Re: 97 civic ex, y7 engine, y8 intake p06 ecu
In that case, it's a problem between the ECU and the O2 sensor plug. Check for continuity on all four wires, from the plug to the ECU plugs before the adapter harness.
