check the main relay and other fuses

Re: 92 Civic won't start (jimmy o.)

The relay and fuses were the first thing that I checked, they're all good

Do you hear the fuel pump priming?

How do you know the relay is good?

Is there fuel pressure?

Re: 92 Civic won't start (EG8R)

I tried a new relay, there is no power at the fuel pump and no pressure in the system

Re: 92 Civic won't start (EG8R)

Additional info on no start problem--- on further investigation I discovered that it also has no spark. I sprayed some carb spray into the intake while cranking and it didn't fire up , so I checked for spark and there was none. I also checked for code and it didn't show any. All of the main fuses under the hood are also ok, I checked them with a test light, to make shure there was current on both sides https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif

Do you have a good ecu you can swap in to see if it will start?

I don't have another ecu to try , could it possibly be the ignition switch

I don't have wiring schematics for everything right now.

wilson091 09-09-2008 12:38 PM

yea i agree could be the ignition switch

yessewey 09-09-2008 01:53 PM

i would also say to try another ecu and see what happens

autodoc 09-11-2008 01:57 PM

Re: (yessewey)

I tried another ecu and now I have fuel pressure and the injectors seem to be firing( the plugs are getting wet) , but I still don't have any spark. The check engine light ,now goes off after a few seconds with the key in the on position, and it doesn't flash any codes when I jump the connection. IS there any way to check the dist connections, it has one with 2 wires and the other has 7 wires.

Re: (autodoc)

There is voltage at the coil in the dist, and the ground is good. I replaced the ign coil and the control mpdule, and still have no spark. The rotor turn while cranking the engine. I also replaced the cap and rotor https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif
