5th at 5 thousand??

On my way back to my house I opened it up today, In 5th gear at 5 thousand RPMs I was only doin' 110. what the hell. I have an EH2 with an LS motor in it. I know the gearing isnt that low, so whats goin on?

SleepnCiViC 05-19-2005 06:45 PM

speedometers suck

Re: 5th at 5 thousand?? (Deathwish)

After 100mph Honda speedometers arent accurate.

so ture so horablie true though...

Deathwish 05-19-2005 07:10 PM

Well thats gay any way to fix it, or is it just one of those things.

SleepnCiViC 05-20-2005 12:12 PM

jus one of them thangs mannnn....... guess you could buy an after market autometer speedo, but who needs mph, jus some rpm reading and your good

sohcvtec1995 05-20-2005 12:19 PM

Re: (SleepnCiViC)

You can get a apexi rev/speed meter.

IHateJDM 05-20-2005 12:21 PM

Re: (SleepnCiViC)

all you need is rpm's, gear ratios, overall tire size, and a calculator. figure out what speed you hit at certain rpm's in 5th and you'll know for sure.

92b16vx 05-20-2005 12:48 PM

I hit 5400 rpms at 100mph https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

Umm, yes it is. My B16A2 is spinning about 5500 RPM at 100mph in 5th.

dantastic 05-20-2005 01:09 PM

yeap... just some simple math: for my old ls motor, 80mph=4000rpm. using some ratios, 50rpm/1mph -> 100mph = 5000rpm

what're u doing cruising around at 110 mph anyway?

Deathwish 05-22-2005 07:39 AM

If it was up to me it would have been 160, dude it's my life if I end up in jail, so be it. Don't be a martyr. I don't mean to be an ass, but yah.

Deemeetree 05-22-2005 08:00 AM

One way to fix it is go as fast as you can and have a cop pull you over. Then, you can ask him how fast he clocked you. So, hopefully, you get your license taken away and get your st00pid ass off the streets where you will, one day, hurt some innocent life. We really don't give a shit about what you do with your life, but when you place innocent lives in the line, then you're asking for it.

Deathwish 05-22-2005 08:27 AM

Yes Im going to hurt all those innocent people on the road at 3 o' clock in the morning there are so many of them. again i'm not saying it to be a dick i'm just saying.

What's bad is, that if it read 5500 on his stock tach, that wasn't accurate either.

Deathwish 05-26-2005 10:09 PM

Naa no stock tach, It's a DX I have an autometer so it's probably right.

Re: (rw92civic)

If you really want some change, get a new tranny, depending on your motor. I have a built B16 with a Y1 tranny and my third gear will hit 8400 at 109mph.
