Cold air intake problems
Guys,
I had a cold air intake installed in my 2008 civic. Afterward, the car would die when I push the clutch( RPMs would would drop and wouldnt catch at 500), and engine would hesitate when I step on the gas(RPM would drop from idle to 500 before it would increase).
I took it to the dealer and they reflashed the ECU and did an idle learn. That helped a little but did not totally fix either problem.
They said that the fuel:air ratio was lean; my car couldn't handle all the air coming in.
I put a new MAF sensor in. That didn't help.
Any thoughts on how I can fix this? Can retune my ecu? I was lookig at some Hondata stuff. Would something like a s100 help? Is it even compatible?
Any suggestions will help.
Thanks

i dont think the s100 will work.. i think you need k-pro.. what kind of cai is it? if its a low grade cheap *** one there is your problem.. put the stocvk airbox back in a nd see if it still happens.. if it still happens its more then just the cold air intake.. if it stops hapening when you put the airbox back in.. toss it and get a new intake or maybe get a power programmer to dump in kmore fuel?
you have just an intake...you do not need to buy a reflash, etc. dont waste your money on it. my guess would be that a hose is not clamped shut or is not connected at all if you have done the "idle learn". take it back to the shop that installed it for you and make them figure it out. any reputable shop should do that for you for free.
