I would stay away from Function and Form... as for Skunk2 it looks like they actually made a decent coilover for the FA5. I too am looking but taking my time before I buy. Skunk2 would be something I would consider for the price.

FF aren't great quality... very cheaply made if you ask most people...

Not saying Skunk2 is the best quality either but they seem to have made a decent quality coil...

Just cause a lot of people use it doesn't mean its necessarily good!!!

i started with skunk 2 on my car. rode a lil rough for my taste. couldnt seem to get them dialed in right. after a few months i tried out some buddy clubs n+ and was satisfied with that. they ride more like stock imo.

i havent had any problems with my skunk 2 coils, they are decently priced for the performance, i havent heard very many good things about the f&f for your ride but i only know two people that had them, but it all boils down to personal preference, look around dont rush into it and good luck bro.

What about D2 Racing? I'm running them on my '07 Si sedan and I love them. Got them dialed in about halfway between soft and hard. They ride great.

if cost is no option then go with the ultimate. K&W.
for your Civic it'll cost you around $1800.

if you want to save some money then go with the D2 Racing units. call procivic and talk to rick. he'll help you out. for the money you can't go wrong with them.
all the adjustments you need are there for you to play.

check them out here: www.d2racing.com

again. if money is not an option then spend the 2 grand and get the K&Ws.

make sure you look at their application list.
variety of cars that include audi, bmw, mercedes and porsche.

for the price you also get the pillow ball mount which is extra for many other coilover kits.
pillow ball allows you to adjust front camber much easier once the car is dropped.
quality is top notch.

i got mine dropped just where the fender lip meets the top of the tire. looks perfect.
unlike those cars where the tire is buried in the fender. i really don't get that.

good luck with your choice. i hope i helped you out.

my previous rides were VWs. I have used Eibach, H&R, Bilsteins and Konis.
i am super happy with my D2 coilovers. glad i bought them. i also have a control arm tie bar and a strut tower brace. along with 17X8.5 rims.
car feels like it's on rails.

call procivic and you won't go wrong redline. you'll be pleased with your setup.
for strut brace i'm running a Pro Design ($85). Simple and does what it's meant to do. The newer Civics have a stiffer chassis but I still like having the towers tied together.
For a low tie bar I'm using a Megan Racing Front Lower Tie Bar from CorSport. $75 with free shipping.
when you lower it you won't be able to align the rear unless you get a camber kit. i got a Skunk camber kit from ProCivic. Car is perfectly aligned now. And with the pillow ball upper strut mount the D2s come with you can play with the front camber too. You'll have one sweet set up.

You guys might want to consider a Koni based coilover setup. The dampers are a super-important part of the suspension, and most of the coilover mentioned here don't do dampers well. And if they are adjustable, they tie the damping and rebound together (bad idea).

If you want bling and don't care so much about improving the car's performance, then any coilover will probably work for you. But if you want a significantly better performance increase (without rattling your teeth), then the Koni based coilovers are the better option in my opinion.

Has anyone looked at KW yet? They have a whole range of dampers and springs, and they fit the 8th gen Civic right up to the Type R. Just a thought...

If I could do it again, I would go with a Redshift coilover setup. (Koni dampers, linear rates, optional camber plates)

If all you're concerned about is being low, get whatever's cheapest; otherwise, a Koni-based setup would probably give you the best possible handling without getting too pricey.

KW Variant 3 Coil-Over - $1880 on Tire Rack
H&R Street Performance coil-over - $983 on Tire Rack
D2 Racing - $910 on ProCivic

D2 Racing has individual adjustments for height, spring load and damping. For street use I think that's plenty good. Unless you get the car on the track then what's the point to spending crazy money?
