Default stereo code

hey guys.

my 2001 ex's battery died last weekend, I jump started it and now the stereo is asking a code...

I am the 2nd owner and can't find the code anywhere... is there any factory code for all?

Default Re: stereo code (meric)

Your goen to have to pull the radio out and get the serial number off the back of the radio or u can.

Electronically Retrieving Audio Unit Serial Numbers

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Turn on the audio unit, and make sure you see
COdE in the display. If you don’t see this
message, remove the backup fuse for
1 minute, and then go back to step 1.

3. Turn off the audio unit.

4. Press and hold the 1 and 6 preset buttons,
then turn on the audio unit. The display
toggles between two screens. The first screen
displays a U and the first four digits of the
serial number (for example, U2200). The
second screen displays an L and the last four
digits of the serial number (for example,
L0055). Ignore the U and L, and write down
all eight digits.

Once u have the code contact any honda dealership or post it and ill give u the code then...

6. Enter the anti-theft code into the audio unit.
Refer to the appropriate owner’s manual for
details.

I called american honda the 800 number. they said I can take my car to any dealer and they can help me w/ some charge or I can call the dealer that the car has been purchased and they can help me for free..

so I picked the 2nd option..called them up.. some lady said the warranty lady might help me..she got my VIN number.. then she gave me the code.. it worked
