Default CEL throws out code P2227

My civic just recently stop working out of the blue and it took a half hour for it to start running and when it finally start i can make it idle but i cant rev it past 4k rpms. So i checked the ecu and it gave me code P2227, which i looked online and its this "P2227 Barometric Pressure (BARO) Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem" Can anyone help me by telling me how i can get rid of this code.

I have had Baro codes set for plugged intake passages. Mainly the airbox beneath the air filter. I have seen squirrels and rodents pack crap in them. I've found acorns, dog food and home insulation. All of them set a Baro DTC. The trouble shooting is to check for blocked air intake, if there is no blockage, replace the ECM. The Baro sensor is located INSIDE the ECM.

sounds like car is in limp mode. If it will not go past 4000 rpm. Try disconnecting the battery for about 15 min and see if that fixes the problem. It resets the ecu and if it is in limp mode it will reset back to normal...If not than I am not sure at that point....

Clearing the ECU won't bring him out of limp mode permanently. He could easily still have an issue with the engine that would trigger "limp" just moments after starting the engine.

I don't know if you fixed this yet. Hope you have, it's been a while. I would like to add that recently I have replaced a MAP sensor that actually set a BARO code instead of a MAP code. FYI.

My RSX is idling very high -constant idle of 3500 at stops. Once I put it in gear and drive it lowers. I took it to auto store and it threw code P2227 and said to clean throttle body so I cleaned it three times over several months including the IACV and it's gotten worse this last time. I took it to a mechanic today who recommended replacing the PCM but doesn't seem 100% sure it would fix it and it's an expensive part so just checkin if anybody else had this issue and the PCM replacement fixed it. Thanks.

Do you have an aftermarket CAI? Not sure if this would contribute to the problem though.

So after resetting the ECU (unplugging fuse method), the idle went back to how it was before I cleaned it. Still off, but at least not idling at 3500rpm!

Yes, I have a CAI. The idle issue started after my car stalled during heavy rain. I was missing fender liners and fog light/cover so water may have gotten somewhere it wasn't supposed to.

Testing for vacuum leak before spending more money on the new pcm/ecu.
