to me don't really matter if it's total or repair as long as insurance replace my jdm front. and these replica's are no longer in production only 1000 made i believe. i got it from ludacris from bay area.

my brother just totaled his 99 ls and got only 3,600 for his car. the insurance that paid him was infinite insurance group. i don't think geico would be pay me any more than 4,500.

since its not your insurance company they can't total it if you don't want them to. they can just repair it. its YOUR option. do more research before you settle.

Why is everyone talking about his insurance company? The "at fault" drivers insurance will be handling the claim, not his insurance agency.

O.P....the insurance company has to repair your car, not stick what they want on it. Your car is damaged and they need to return it to the state it was in prior to the accident. It's well within your right to counter their offer to be sure it meets your needs to repair the vehicle.

Did you even read my prior post. People get ****ed by insurance companies constantly...it's so funny. I've negotiated with many insurance companies and gotten what I wanted. They can't just tell you to **** yourself...they are obligated to handle the claim or go to court. The costs to go to court are extensive for them, so they'd rather pay the claim.

Man Im totally not comfortable with what they offer me. After all they decided to make it a total loss and after the whole calculation and my 500 deductible it came out to be $2,483.25 which i think it's not worth it at all. I at least expected $4,000. Somehow they minus every little penny off of what they think was not good and wear and tear and rock chipps and man they inspected my salvage car like it was a ferrari. Is there anyway i can get more out of this, and do you guys think it's worth buying it back for $500.

BTW... unless you have special insurance where you reported your aftermarket front end, be prepared to get paid for a stock front end... believe me, I'd know.

You can show your insurance a receipt for the front end and they may pay for a fraction of it, but don't expect them to pay the full amount that you paid.

So deny the offer and tell them to come back when they make a respectable offer.

I didn't see this before I posted my reply, but yeah... they did the same exact thing to me.

Insurance companies are as bad as car thieves.

do you have all paper work for the jdm front end? show them how much the cost of each part that is damage cost your insurance company should help you get what you want as being a customer with them dont let them screw you over like how they screwed me over, the girl hit me and i owe her insurance 10k it was an 03 kia something that wasnt even great and they kept adding lil stupid parts to make it higher (long story short she hit me i had insurance but at the time it was under my sisters so she canceled it on me so now i owe the other b*&@ money)

tell them their offer is not enough to replace the car. give them a price. compare that price to the repair cost. they should go for whatever is cheaper.

you might want to consider suing the person who ran the stop sign for the residual if you can't get the money from their insurance.

I really hope you did not tell your insurance company about the accident. they have no reason to know, and if they do, they will increase your rates for simply having been involved in an accident.
