"13" Accord, intermittent start prob
Greetings
Off and on for a while, months maybe 3/4.
Turn key to start nothing. Dash stays lit no dimming of lights in or out just no starter activity at all
Wait a bit don't touch transmission controls nothing.
Wait a few seconds, booom, cranks right up zero hesitation. No low battery indications (slow turn clicking ect).
Live in SW Fl and never happens in the garage only when out.
Going to leave it in the sun here all day today and see whaz-up with that. Gets hot under that hood.
Thinking Starter Relay on a relay module under the hood in the fuse box
part # 38830T2A01
Will a dealers computer pick up an intermittent fault or just tell them I need a new starter?
Too old to replace a starter can handle plug and play module!
Module 78 bucks starter 600 plus
Thanks

I had the same issue and it was the starter. There is a contact in the starter that corrodes and eventually will not make contact. When the car sits and cools off, or sometimes heats up, the starter will sometimes make contact again. This will go on for weeks before it eventually will no longer start. Don't wait too long to replace the starter. If you're a do-it-yourselfer, you can buy a brush kit from Homda and repair the starter. An OEM brush kit from Honda costs around $80 delivered. Youtube has the videos for repairing the starter and for pulling and installing the starter. Be sure to buy only OEM parts. If you replace the starter at a dealer, specify a new OEM starter. The aftermarket starters generally do not last.
If it only happens when hot, the starter relay module is likely the problem. Try swapping or tapping the relay first since it is much cheaper than replacing the starter.
