Default transmission problem

Hello, I have a strange problem with my 1997 Honda Accord SE's transmission that I believe to be electrical. I had gotten an error code for the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) about eight months ago it made my car not shift into second gear but I could shift in reverse just fine. I replaced it and it ran great for six months then I got a yellow engine light that indicated that I had a failed O2 sensor. the car still ran fine for a couple months with the yellow engine light on, but recently my transmission has been doing the same thing that it did when the VSS went it wont shift out of second gear but it does shift in reverse just fine also when I checked the codes the first time it gave me the codes for the VSS and O2 sensors but now it only gives me the VSS btw the engine light is still yellow and also when I unplug my cars battery and hook it back up the car runs fine but then it starts all over again does anyone know whats wrong?

Dude, really? It's whatever the code is you are getting. Fix that problem and the car will be fine. 'Clearing' a code is only acceptable when you have fixed the problem. If the code is 'persistent' then fix the issue. It's not going to 'go away'.

Just because a car seems to run 'fine' does not mean it is running 'fine'.

As I said in my post I already fixed the VSS when it went eight months ago and I'm still getting the code for it also the reason why I mentioned about the battery is to prove its an electrical problem not mechanical and I don't get the code for the O2 sensor anymore so explain that to me and when the VSS went the first time it was a red engine light which indicates a critical malfunction now its yellow which indicates minor like an O2 sensor but I don't get the code for the O2

So you have a code, we can agree on that. If I'm reading this correct (you never give the actual code) it says the VSS is not sending the proper signal.

Sorry I'm trying to figure this out.

You don't believe there is an issue with the vss? No one ever said the sensor is bad, fix the issue...you know what the ecu is saying...test it out and repair the car and call it a day....sorry my two cents.
