o2 sensor question
Like a dumbass, i got one of those universal o2 sensors. Even more of a dumbass i cut the plugs off and threw them away. Now I am left with 8 wires and dont know where they connect. The wires on the sensor are green, white and two black. The wires on the harness are Green/blue, white/red, yellow/black, and orange/black. Can anyone tell me which wire goes where?
I'd love to help you out, but I just spent 45 mins looking thru this '79' Accord manual and there is no info at all about O2 sensors.........Maybe you have a '62' Accord?
Does your universal sensor have instructions saying which wire is which? I'll say the 2 black ones are the heater, it doesn't matter which is which. Only one of the others should have continuity to ground, you can find which with a multi-meter.
It would be nice to know what kind of car you're talking about. But based on my 95 Integra wiring...
Yellow/black is power for the sensor heater. Connect to either one of the black sensor wires.
Orange/black is for the other black sensor wire.
White/red is for the sensor signal. Before you make this connection, check to see if it's a shielded wire, & make the splice accordingly.
Green/blue is for the sensor ground.
