Default Code P1382

I have a 1997 honda accord SE, with a check engine light on, I hooked it up to a diagnostic computer and it gave the code P1382, any idea which part is this code refering to and how to fix it?

Thank you. The dealer wants $45 to hook it up to their machine and tell me exactly what is wrong with it. I think they wants to make little money.

yes any sensor with an input or output signal to the ECM/PCM is considered part of emission. so just head on down to your honda dealer and they will run your vin number.

I work for the local Honda dealer so i'll keep a eye out for your car. Alot of times it is covered for free but there are some cars that don't fall under that so hopefully it works out for you. If you have any problems just come see me in parts, my name is Matt and i'll help you any way I can.

Yep I work for D-pat They will run a vin check on your car and see if it falls in the range of the cars covered in the emissions warranty. The only bad part is if your car is not in range or it's a unrelated problem that is not covered you my be charged the 1/2 hour diag fee. I'll try and catch one of the advisors in the morning and see if they can run the vin before the tech gets it.

Thanks Matt. I was told by the service dept. that the car is going to be covered by the warranty. They went a head and changed the oil (I just changed it about a month ago with Mobile 1 Synthetic oil and a honda oil filter), and they did a tune up ( I changed the spark plugs and wires about 2 months ago). Also, I was told that the part was ordered and my car won't be ready until next Friday or I can pay 30-40 $ and get the part sooner and my car will be ready next Monday. Do u have any suggestions? let me know.

Thanks again,
Ali

Good deal, i'm glad it was covered

The thing with the warranty though is when they order parts they don't pay the extra freight to overnight it, they just ship it on the regular stock order. The bad part is since you had it ordered today it will be on next weeks stock order unless the customer pays the freight which like you heard is pretty costly.

I'll see what I can do about getting you your part a little sooner though with no extra freight charge so you can get your car back on the road

I have a similar issue - have a 2000 Honda Civic VP with the Check Engine Light ON. I hooked it up to a diagnostic and it gave me P1382.

I was reading previous posts and see that it may be covered under the warranty. How can I check up on the warranty coverage?

Bumping a 10y.o. thread, and not even mentioning what car you have is kinda hard to pinpoint the exact part.
P1382 Cylinder Position (CYP) Sensor No Signal.
It's in a different location depending on year/engine.
