The mechanic said it had too much carbon or something, and it needs to be replace, and he also said that with the new sensor i will save more gas, so does that mean less horsepower?

Youd get more horsepower out of a new sensor if I had to guess.

I'd focus on why all of a sudden this is a problem.

Did you check what ecu code it is? Have you reset the ecu to see if it goes away?

YOU HAVE THE REPLACE IT. Since the 02 sensor was probably damage during your install of the header, I would recommend you replace it. The 02 sensors helps make sure your engine gets the proper air/fuel mixture. A bad 02 sensor can lead to poor gas mileage, decrease hp, and many other problems. Your car will mostly be running rich, which can destory the cat. converter and eventually your motor if left in that condition for a long time.

I have a brand new 02 sensor for sale if you need it.

$65 shipped to you. email me at tnt513@juno.com if interested.

before getting o2 sensor notice that the one on the cat wont work on the one in the header. that is true for 6th gen.
the one attached on the cat is little bit longer.
I'll say fu_k it and get a o2 sim.
or you can get tap your 02 sensor with 50 cents parts in radio shack.
it will make the cel go away.

been that done that
