So, the car (1991) runs and shifts normal. When the tach gets to 3k it starts to bounce between 4 & 5K until it shifts. After it shifts, as it get to 3k again it bounces again until it shifts. The car does not rev that high, just the tach bounces. Anyone have this happen to them?

Your distributor is going bad. Mine did the same thing, and it did not want to start when hot. Replace it now before you are stranded.

 

Is it just something in the dizzy? I reciently had to put in a ignition coil. I don't wanna have to buy a whole dizzy if it's just one of the parts inside it.

 

Yes something, who knows what is dying inside the distributor. I bought a new one at advanced auto for $170. Good luck finding distributor parts, because you can't get them.
