Default 4th and 5th gen intermittent shafts the same?

Ii did my auto to five speed swap and I used a intermittent shaft off a 5th gen and a 4th gen axle. Its like the intermittent shaft or the axle is to short. I bought a brand new axle.

Intermediate shaft is the same, axles are different.

Nope turned out I needed the 5th gen axle to go with the 5th gen shaft.

Like I said, the intermediate shafts are the same. IFRC the 4th gen axle is a bit shorter than the 5th gen one.

No the intermittent shafts is shorter on a 5th gen so they have longer axles. I was able to ues a 5th egn axle and everything worked out.
