1990 accord "s" light
this "S" light thing is giving me a fit (flashing) I've replaced the tcu and thought i had the problem solved. Intermittely the light would appear ..and ten go into limp mode.. now it stays on ..maybe solenoids ?? how do i test them, i tried to place a jumper to the conn. (both terminals) but got no clicking from upper or lower solenoid..any suggestions, advice, guidance would really hep! thanx in advance.

after further investigation, both shift control solenoids do infact operate, but i still have the rapidly flashing "S" light and the gear skip.. seems like 1st to 3rd gear change. the tcu was replace with a reman. unit in 1/09.
i would check for codes first, may not be any, what i would do is go get a new main fuel relay, i know this sounds rediculous but hear me out, had a car that did the same thing, after a long time it was found that the main relay pig tail had poor solder joints, removed the relay and resoldered the pig tail and replaced the relay and it never did that again, i found that a low voltage is provided to the tcu from the main relay, if not there the result will be what you are experiencing, check it out , i have also seen the relay itself will cause the same thing. The dealer sells about ten a month so its pretty common. not too expensive either
