would this effect my boost gauge readings??

well the autometer gauge came with 1/8 nylon hose, but to to lack of fittings, i switched it over to 1/4 inch instead. would the increase in diameter make a difference in what the gauge read?, cause right now its reading like 10 vaccum at idle, and i dont think thats right

well i have a 1/4 nylon goin right to the back of the boost gauge, and then i have it transition to a 1/8 vacuum hose about a foot from where its T'd into the fpr vacuum hose

just buy the 1/8 fitting, i think its stock #1551 ???? its like 5$ for the fittings and the nylon

hmmmm....

It shouldn't make a difference, unless the line is collapsing under vacuum. I'm going to be using 1/4 ID fuel hose for ALL my vacuum/boost lines on my setup.

im actually not sure, but that might make sense for mine . mine always reads about 2psi more than it should. i ditched the nylon line and ran like 4mm vac line tot he gauge.

ok real whacked-> my boost gauge is hooked up, it lights up and shit, it currently wont read vacuum, but i was boosting at a solid 8psi on a 5.8 psi wastegate spring according to the gauge......

Have you dropped your gauge? Sounds like you need a new one.

Re: (DaX)

i personally never dropped it. i got it from a friend who had it lying around his room

well turns out that on the back of the gauge, one of the 2 brass bolts is loose, and it falls into the gauge sometimes. when this happens im assuming it hits something mechanical, cause the gauge wont read vacuum, just boost. also, when the car is off, the needle sits at like 1-1.5 in the boost column and not on 0. does anyone know how to adjust where the needle sits when the gauge isnt on?
