Wiseco Minor scam!!!
Well not such a big thing but it kinda bothered me.... If was looking forward to buying wiseco 9.8:1 pistons for my b18B... If you look at the wiseco PDF catalog online it state that under a 45cc head the compression ratio can be from 9.3:1 - 9.8:1... I happened to choose 9.8 for the motor to fell strong....
To make a long story short I get the pistons and I was curious to find out wat c/r to be secure... Wiseco usually say it on the box...so i called Wiseco and they told me that depending on the head you use you have a 9.3-9.8:1 compression ratio...
Then the guy tells me its just for reference purposes.... long story short...im pretty mad because i guess im stuck with the 9.3...just a point above stock USDM C/R....and for you guys that are thinking of the same setup....Think about that.... or perhaprs im wrong and the guy i spoke to doesnt know what hes talking about lol....lets hope that

research research research!!!
serioulsy WTF, i dont think it is very accurate to blame someone else for a miscalculation you did not take into consideration

Seriously wtf. When I saw that compression range it didnt make sense to me either. So like a NORMAL person I called them and asked about it first. They list the dish volume so you can calculate the exact compression with whatever head you are using. Dont be a jackass and start a scam thread because you didnt research it before you bought it.
Agreed, i don't think your gonna miss that minimal of compression anyways. Add another pound of boost and call it good. Or have the head shaved, and make it 10.1.

You cannot get an exact compression ratio from a piston company. Things like head gasket thickness, block decking, amount the head was milled, length of the stroke used in the block will all affect the exact compression ratio obtained. If it calculates too low for you, just mill the head a little.
And learn to use the calculator on this site...but you will need to know the dish/dome volume of the piston you chose.

i don't understand why everyone gets all freaked out over .5CR......so freakin what that it's 9.3:1 over 9.8:1.....does everyone actually think you are gonna feel/see any difference between the two.........
i went from 8.9:1 to 9.5:1 and it feels exactly the same.
i would rather have the lower compression anyway.....you can crank more boost into the cylinder and not worry so much about dentonation....

The low number (in Wiseco catalog) usually corresponds with running a piston to deck of .03" which is what it will be about with an un-machined block. The high number is having the block decked for a 0.0" piston to deck. Your fault for not knowing what you were looking at.
A F**K everyone that is talking ****...I only put scam in the title to get ppl into reading this....im am almost sure that anyone of you guys that look at the catalog would have thought the same thing as I did..I was just looking out....
Damn everyone took the "scam" to the heart cry me a river again ....pistons are bad *** hell no doubt...just looking outbefore you get something you dont expect

And if my **** don't make sense and you guys prove to me that it states somewhere that if depends on deck hight the compression ratio you get...Then I will shut the F**k up...but for now simple F**k the guys that dont appreciate me looking out for a lil misunderstanding in the catalog.... Is like damn if you have something good to say fine...but why gotta go talk ****...go do that somewhere else...again its not a scam...its just something i think Wiseco should edit

scam my ***.
