Why does everyone use 440's with hondata?
Just as the topic states. Is it because noone wants to deal with hooking up the resistor box? I know it couldnt be the price, what maybe $5 for each injector? Im kinda leaning towards the 550's for when i get it.
I mean you might as well get DSM 450's for 1/4 the price and do the resistor box.
Someone please enlighten me

I bought some 450's for $50! Getting them cleaned and balanced will be around $100, and the resistor box was $30. Pretty good if you ask me, since pretty much all injectors beyond 550s will need a resistor box anyway. Who is going to be happy with low boost forever?
I thought the RC 440 were saturated and the 550s were p/h type. Atleast thats what it states on their site.

Oh, well you can get 440cc peak & hold RC injectors. THey may not list them on the web site.
I must correct myself though, I think ben was selling 440cc saturated. I think that is why everyone has the 440cc
Peak & hold injectors are better anyways.

Ok, well, anyways.........back to the question. Why does everyone do the 440's. Wouldnt it be more beneficial to go with 550's. Besides having to buy and install the resistor box--who gives a crap.
Maybe im just asking a dumb question. Kinda like "which is better-greddy or drag?"

I run RC PB2x720, Peak and Hold-Low resistance (2.5/3 Ohm) 720c/min injector. sometimes two rail of em, my buddy runs 150Lb (1600cc) ford injectors in his 2.2
Maybe everyone does not need to make 300+ WHP. I know I do not have any intentions of going to that point for a while, if ever. 440 will be more than enough for my goals.
The NA supras may be 440's (I'll take your word for it), but the turbo supras are 550. However they are side mount so it wouldn't be a pnp application for hondas.
Actually the MK3 are 550 top feed and can be used. But I found brand new RC 550's for $260. No one seemed interested in that price, but Im gonna give it a try!
FYI:
86-88 RX7 Turbo II injectors = 550cc Peak and Hold
89-92 RX7 Turbo II injectors = 550cc Saturated
450/440cc injectors max out on a standalone running 43.5 PSI fuel rail pressure at about 270HP(not WHP)....So 11~12lbs on an LS motor is 80~85% duty cycle for 450/440cc....
Though i'm looking for some 750cc'rs, anything less is just to colse to max duty cycle for comfort.....Everyone should visit http://www.RCeng.com/technical.htm and figure out what they need.

you sure those arent primary injectors on the RX7, they run two sizes on each motor, you can get 850cc secondary is you want from Mazda, they are not cheap and dont work on hondas.

In order to support ~250whp with 440s, i'm forced to use approx 58psi of static pressure (48psi idle)
this is on a civic si where stock pressures are more like 40psi static..
