Okay, finally got my car on the road but it dies if I don't give it gas.
I just completed a head gasket change so I'm not sure what could have caused it. I didn't really change anything. All my fuel settings and whatnot are exactly the same.
I did, however, stumble across this plug. Where the heck does it go? I was told a while back when I did my 5-speed swap that there would be an extra plug, but is that it?

Thanks. I really need to get this car driving again.
EDIT: If that's not causing the problem, do you know what it could be? Car dies if I don't gas it. The car will restart totally normal without problems. The car drives normal as well.
Thanks.

purge valve? or possibly the trans speed sensor? not sure since you have an auto harness. drive the **** and see if you have any problems.

Nah, IACV should be a round connector like the TPS and MAP

cruise control has 4 pins
The only thing that has 2 pins is:
engine coolant temp- not it
lockup control selinoid for the trans, mainshft speed sensor, or countershaft speed sensor- could be it but why is it on the wrong side of the engine compartment
backup lights- not it you have an auto (i thought i saw someone post)
crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor- could be
Engine coolant temp- too obvious
IAC- not it
purge selinoid- could be but doubt it
IAT- nope round plug
it could go to the wiring harness over by the drivers fenderconnector C304 if you have a Helms. Thats all i see besides injectors plugs that have 2 pins in the engine compartment in my helms.

If for some reason you have a GSR harness (maybe you did a vtec/LS motor for some reason) in your car it could be
vtec oil pressure switch
knock sensor
IAB valve
vtec oil pressure switch
knock sensor
IAB valve

Thanks for the replies guys.
Here's some more info. It's an automatic LS ECU. The car is a boosted LS with a 5-speed swap.
The wires on the plug are as follows:
1) White with red stripe
2) Teal with red stripe
Like I said, I was told it might be something to do with the automatic tranny, but why is it near the intake manifold? If you follow the wire down, it goes under the IM into the harness under there.
Thanks again.

i had that plug too and i also did a AT>5speed conversion. it was just sitting in my engine bay, but i went out and got a 5speed harness (because i was temporarily riding on my AT harness)...
IIRC that's the "extra" plug you mentioned...as far as the idling issue, are you sure you don't have the IAC and MAP plugs reversed. That'll cause similar low/no idle issues

UPDATE:
w00t! I finally got it working. Stupid me didn't have the TPS plugged in.
Don't ask why, because I have no idea.
But I'm happy to say, it's all working well. No more clouds of white smoke, and I just heard my BOV for the first time today in about 2 months.
I was in heaven.
Thanks for all the help guys.

Its the backup light switch. On manual trannies the backup light comes up from the bottom of the tranny and around to plug in where your vtec solonoid is. You pulled it around the intake manifold side, but if you pull it around the distributor side of the head it should only have enough length to get to about the vtec solonoid. It isn't anything to worry about, but you should check if your backup lights work before you go to inspection.
edit: ok apparently not
