when should you think about a scatter shield?

any general rules of thumb here?

as title says, when should you start thinking scatter shield?

A scatter shield is designed to keep you and everyone around you safe by covering up the transmissions bellhousing in case of a flywheel and or clutch failure that would send clutch parts FLYING.

shields you from drivetrain parts if they were to break loose or what not in accident or mechanical failure.

specifically a flywheels will act like a saw if it comes loose and come straight through the floor easily.

EDIT: ditto of above I was typing at the same time.

I got one from Sav Leone, met him at VMP for NOPI a couple of weeks ago and gave me a good deal, gave him and his dad the money when we went out to eat and got it on Wednesday. Pretty inexpensive

Funny thing to see a flywheel fly through the hood of this kid Horse Teeth Maurice's eclipse trying to do a burnout! fire extinguisher didn't help much either. lol

hell yes, there was a pic on her a couple months ago of a flywheel that had gone through the hood.....ill look for it
