Shorter gears make you accelerate faster, so there would be no gain. Keep the GSR tranny or look into a B16 tranny. Check this gear calculator out if you want to see what different tranny's will give you...http://www.autocrossing.com/cgi-bin/gearcalc.cgi

If you're turning 9500 go with the B16/ITR trans. A 25" slick will put you at about 160 MPH at the top of fourth with the GSR, a B16 trans would be perfect and put you right at 150 MPH crossing the traps. For reference, the LS trans would put you at about 180 MPH at the top of fourth, so waaaay too long.

Yes it will, the shorter gears will get you to your power band quicker and keep you in that range instead of possibly falling out of the power band w/ long gears between shifts. Gearing is a torque multiplier and torque is good

If you're revving to 9500+ rpm than I'd look into the B16/ITR trans.

B16/ITR have the same gearing, so I would just go for the cheaper one, which is going to be the B16. Then get yourself a Quaife LSD.
