Hello everyone, what’s the second smaller hole on the exhaust side? It looks like there could be an internal wastegate but nowhere to put it?

I'm not using this turbo, i was just wondering.






This is the second one I have and it doesn’t have that hole.

 

You need start with measuring the inducer and exducer for the compressor and turbine wheels. That will be a good start and more benefical information to have.

 

Appreciate your response but I won’t be using this turbo anymore because it doesn’t fit right with my set up. I was just wondering what that extra hole was for

 

It is for an internal wastegate. The exhaust housing is a cheap Chinese product and the manufacturer likely uses the same casting for both internal and external wastegates.
