For stock injectors, use 12:1 and limit yourself to 5-6 psi of boost.

From there, just do the math. As a general rule, for every x% increase in injector size, you decrease the FMU disk by the same x%. Example...30% increase in injector size = 30% decrease in FMU disk. In your case, that'd be an 8:1 disk. That will keep you in the ballpark.

Thanks guys. I will be running RC 550 injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump. Can I use any FMU with the right disc? Thanks again.

You didn't say whether or not you are using a standalone to control those injectors. Since your question was originally about an FMU, I am assuming that you are not using a standalone.

In that case, get Zip's SMC. You do not need an FMU to control 550cc injectors. They deliver plenty of fuel under boost, but they will be way overkill at part throttle and idle. The SMC is a cheap, easy, and works well. You can get one from http://www.diabloautosports.com (it's made by Zip aka ECG Electronics).

Wow, you rule. But I have one more question. Will it work over 14psi of boost? I plan on running 17-18psi on the street and 20-22psi at the track. Thanks again for all your help.

There's no way you will be able to run past 10psi with just a FMU. Now if you ditch the FMU an get a hondata or get a v-afc to controll those 550cc injectors then you might be able to run up to +12 psi without getting a cel. Anything higher you will need to either get a hondata or AEM or other blingbling fuel mangement system. GL

if youre planning on running that much boost... get a Hondata. no questions asked. you cant rely on bandaid fuel setups like the SMC, AFC, or FMU for that much boost.

any thing under 10psi smc or afc hack or 12:1 fmu with stock 240cc and inline pump

over 10psi you need a standalone or something like PMS

you can go with something like 440cc and a s-afc ,inline pump with a like a 5:1 rise rate fmu not safe but will work up to about 16psi

or the inline pro setup 255lph intank pump 12:1 rise rate fmu and 440cc and they have seen up to 20psi with this on race gas

This is what i use. Vortech FMU 12:1 disk, 440cc injectors, safc, missing link. 10psi=326hp and 221ft. lbs of torque to the wheels. This is on a gsr motor though. The FMU setup is safe and works great. We'll make over 500hp on it once i get a bigger pump and lines.

Just out of curiosity why spend all that money on that when you could spend the same on hondata and have complete control over fuel, and ignition timing?
The idea of runing a smc with 450's ran through my mind for a split second then i thought about ignition timing....it's a pain in the ***, i hate runing retarded timing and losing hp...just me and my thought.....

I understand we all need a hondata. I'm sure that at the time most of us would have bought a hondata. But when your starting out and building it as you go ,you do what you can. Missing link-$50, Fmu-$100, inline pump-$100, Intank-$130. Now spread this out and it seems more appealing. Then consider getting the hondata with boost option and the other bells and whistles?????$$$$$$. Then factor in the cost of tuning the hondata or getting a lap top to do it your self????$$$$. . Money most don't have. Sometimes its just not feasable. I'm just tired of seeong post stating get a Hondata. Lets just all assume that we all will get one. Just not right now. In the mean time, lets answer the question the best we can.

In your case, get 310cc injectors, AFC, and a Cartech FMU (they're adjustable without need of discs).

Simple, it's not needed. I don't have a standalone, and i'm running right along that guys that do. It wasn't near as expensive as the hondata or any other standalone and it works wonders. Hondata is nice, but i prefer something like the haltech and even the it wouldn't be real streetable. The fmu setup is perfect on the street and at the track.

AFC or a programmable ECU. I hope that isn't the high pressure model fuel pump.
