What does boost feel like???
Really, how does the driveability of boost compare to an all motor engine with the same amount of hp?
I know throwing a turbo is cheaper and smarter but the application of power matters as well. I'm thinkin of swapping fo' powr, damn options.....
Please dont start a flame war.....

it's a rush....ya nail the gas, ya hear the turbo start to spool, it gets louder psi by psi as it climbs, shift, blow off valve goes off, get pulled back in your seat....
its just awesome

turbo is not cheap, it's lotta maintenance. you can't just slap on a turbo kit and expect things to run perfectly. but hey, if you dont care how long your car lasts, go for the turbo

Driveability depends on turbo size. Go with a T67 on a B16 and you'll have problems with that aspect... go with a .48 a/r T3/T04E and it will spool and carry nicely throughout the band. It all depends on turbo sizing.

Turbo is not a lot of maintenance if done right the first time. Ive had mine installed for over 2 months without a problem. Of course I dont slam on the gas every time. I try not to hit boost at all most of the time. But every engine is different some will have problems with boost and some wont.

, but why am I attracted to a difficult b18c swap in my crx??? I know I'll end up with a turbo, but if price and all other baddies weren't an issue would you drop a b18c in a rex, that motor has the numbers I want.......I currently have a flawless sohc zc-- non vtec, I want around 185hp, dont want to sacrifice my already limited low end... Options make being an H car owner difficult.

that's not neccessary true. If it was done right with the right stuffs, with a good tune then it will run for a very long time. Regardless what you do to the car, all Motor of Turbo, if you try to cheap out or don't know what you're doing, you will have a lot of problems.
Boost is fun though, especially when you get pulled into your seat when the boost kicked in!

if you only want 185whp, I wouldnt swap. You can do that easily on a D series.

If you have a rex, just buy a b18a. That would be your best bet. Better low end torque than most honda engines, and pretty potent stock turbo motor.

LS-T's have made many people, including myself, happy with the results. I think it's the cheapest way to go really fast, if you do it right.

Yeah...I kind of have to keep this engine.... Which turbo would give me the 185hp I'm looking for??? I know that there are several variables, but just to shoot the ****, what would you do to reach 185>

I wouldn't never buy a kit, piece one together is much more rewarding and gives you a better understanding of things. Any fool can buy a kit and slap it on.

A kit is a start for some people and if you get a greddy kit they are under $1400 which is what I got mine for. I didnt know **** about turbos until I installed the kit myself, now I know what kind of turbo to build next time. 185whp is easy on a Greddy kit just add on some DSM 450s and use Crome or Uber.

I did the same. If you are brand new and have no one who has done if before you to help you through it, just buy a kit.

I also agree. The greddy kit was a great learning experience. Pretty good power and everything went together really well. If I did it over again, my first turbo setup would be a complete kit again
