A shop I know is trying to sell me this motor that they as a spare had for their race car. they say it'll handle everything I can throw at it, but I'm concerned more about the lack of water jackets. Has anyone here ever run a block like this before?

Yeah, I'm more worried with being able to tune the motor. Doing a Dyno run then letting it cool, I'm assuming would take forever.

 

Yeah, you would be looking at an all day project. Once its tune, it will be fun until it grenades...

 

Once it's tuned why would it grenade?

That motor would be a BEAST for a strip car... I wonder what rods it has, if they are just as beefy you could run massive boost.

 

It has pauter rods, I picked it up today along with another more tame block. Gonna set this one one the shelf incase I decide to build a methanol drinking dragster lol
