this is the manifold i just got from SFP on thursday. I tried to bolt up the turbo to it today, but i couldn't fit any bolts in there. The bolt just rubs against the pipes. like there's no clearance there.

any ideas? or should i just go back to sfp? Sorry for posting somethign as simple as this but I'm getting very impatient, school is about to start soon, all the classes i want are closed and i haven't finished this turbo crap yet
... the little things are getting to me.

yah i did that too. but i dunno. the turbine inlet flange holes are bigger than the manifold ones.
EDIT: Maybe the bolts i'm using to test it don't make it seem to fit. I'll try getting the correct bolts then trying again.

tap it out (unless its already threaded) and use studs
thats almost the same design as mine, and I had to use studs.

feed the bolt from the bottom and use a nut on top, cut the bolt down just enought for the nut to go on. if a nut doesnt fit on top either, then tap the flange on the mani and bolt the turbine to the flange.

a nut won't fit in that lil space above the flange. i think think welded the flange too close to the log. gonna take it to them monday maybe.

Damn, should have just bought a maxrev. Almost identical with the exception of the wastegate flange placement---oh and with the exception that I had no problem with bolting the turbo on
I'd be pissed, everyone raves over them. Guess they are starting to get sloppy.

as a related note...I hope you aren't planning on using that machine screw to hold it together on your engine! You need some grade 8 or higher bolts (if you didn't already know that).
I think the idea of feeding the bolt from the bottom or using a stud with a nut on one or both sides should work. I went through about three different kinds of hardware to finally get mine attached to my Greddy manifold and I still had to oversize the holes a few times

theres no way a nut will fit, but it doesn't matter. since its threaded just use a bolt from the bottom....and screw it into those threads then your done!
just remember to use a washer and a lock washer.

. i was using it to test fit it. Oh well I gotta go to SFP ASAP anyway to see about my piping so I'll just take it to them and get the bolts from them and have them fit it there... just to make sure it's not bad craftsmanship why it *seems* that it won't work.
You don't need grade 8. The turbo doesn't weigh THAT much. You need grade 8 to hold a V8 on an engine stand
You might have to get the angle grinder out and work at it a bit. Of course, I would take it back and get the Maxrev like I tried to talk you into in the first place

damn i would of gone with the maxrev. im sure ill see you around town whenever u go turbo..
aren't you suppose to go from the bottom up

my SFP is bolted from teh bottom up but the manifold holes are threaded. I think thats what you should do to the manifold. Either you or SFP should get it threaded

i might be down near there for some races.... isnt pembroke pines up here in central fl>?
yah i know i guess i'm just gonna get the right sized bolts and try it from the bottom. i have to go to sfp anyway to see about my piping and take my intercooler to miami muffler to relocated the endtank inlets.
