well oil vapor is what usually comes out of that vent, build motors or turbo motors on boost often more fumes coming out, but you say steam which is water, did you mean to say oil vapor?

Oil comes out of that breather if you dont have that routed any where.(catch can, or a breather filter...A simple catch can setup would fix that...

As for the idle have you check for vacum leaks? This can cause idle to sound like you have a cam.....Also if the car doesnt have a proper basemap that could cause bad idle

the car was tuned for the stock motor on 11 lbs so the ecu is programed for 550 rcs and a 255 but that was higher compression. someone was telling me that since it has lower compression now it might make the car louder like it has cams could that be true? i will check tomorrow for vaccuum leaks maybe something came off thanks

no, definitely not. if oil is coming out of that breather hole you have a serious problem, like a blown motor or SERIOUS blowby issues which are usually a blown motor.

sounds like you are running on a pretuned ecu. You need to have your car dyno tuned.

Blinx9900 speaks the truth. if youre having problems like that you might wanna figure out whats causing them. and on the idle issue. my car idled like that from simply switching from a ramhorn manifold to an inlinepro. you need to get your car retuned anyway if the tune is for a stock bottom end......

well a ton of blow by (white smoke) out of the valve cover means a cracked ringland. which wouldnt make sense in his case as it sounds like a new motor.

what can be the problem. i would like to know too. could it be because of the type of rings being used since this is a new build motor?

those je pistons are gonna have a lot of blow-by when you first start the motor. Let it run for a minute or two and see if calms down

Bad Pcv

Bad rings Or Broken ring lands. I had the same thing happen last yr and it turned out to be a busted ring land on one of the cyl.
