Well.... I think I blew it...
Finnaly did a Compression check on my motor today .... here are my numbers i got from Left to right Cyclinders... (155) (140) (135) (0) .... as I pulled out the last spark plug in Cycliner 1 there was oil all over it...and as you can see on the pix the spark plug is toast... could this have been the cause of my motor failing?? is there anyway i can fix the motor without buying a whole new LS engine?
also I think my seals are tost on my turbocharger as well because theres oil leakin between the DP and exhaustside of the turbo..... man I'm screwed...

Is the spark electrode missing in the pic where your holding it up? If its not on the spark plug, its prolly floating around in the CC or messing up your turbine blades.... O wait your getting a new turbo... So what management were you running and how many lbs of boost and when did it blow?

I wanna know too. Any how many boosted miles?

no sir... this is what we call pre-ignition. completly different from detonation. detonation normally will not melt things, pre-ignition will.
pre-ignition comes from running the car too lean, running with spark plugs that are too hot or a hot spot in the chamber that ignites the mixture. pre-ignition melts everything, chances are you have a melted piston

That's what mine looked like after I got a little detonation and busted up my pistons. It's a pretty common occurrence in boosted Hondas. I'd guess you need an engine rebuild. It might be cheaper and easier just to get another LS engine.

You think so? I was thinking that looks like the plugs that came out of my engine the first time I blew it up from detonation. Would the insulators be intact if he got it hot enough to melt the piston?

detonation wont do that by itself... but detonation can lean to pre-ignition
on a normal basis things in the engine are happy, detonation makes everything quite a bit hotter and will eventually lead to pre-ignition

My car was barley running before i did the tests, managment was a Chrome Chipped ECU with 440cc injectors running stock boost at 7psi......story is that I ran out of gas when all of this crap happened to my car...

were you at wot when you ran out? going really lean under load would cause pre ignition, which is what would cause your spark plug to look like it got prison raped

I was like a block away from my house and a gas station....soo close!! but never made it....
on the 2nd picture (i forgot to add) that there was oil all over the wire and sparkplug... the other sparkplugs and wires didnt have oil on it .... any clues?

How long have you been boosted? I thought I just read a thread about you getting the car together not too long ago...
It's kinda weird that this happened in #1, doesn't #3 normally melt first because of the firing order?
Sucks that you are going to have to tear into that bad boy... good luck!

Yea... I believe my seals are in good condition... just my head failed on me.......I've only been boostin for like 2-3 WONDERFUL months too
... funny thing is that my car blew the same exact day I got my Bike...... my car probably got jealous or something... ****....
I was talking to Phil and my plans are either going to be:
1- Do a rebuild on the whole motor
2- Just buy another used LS motor
3- Switch to a B16a2 and slap on my turbo on that.
4- Build my own LS vtec motor...
I got lots of time to think about it cuz I got no money right now... haha

ls turbos are fun i went through 2 (oil pump owned one and a boost spike owned the other)...i made 304whp at 14 psi on on (had 150k miles) the other one made 282whp at 11 psi (fresh motor)...then i built an ls/vtec n never boosted it im gonna get a lightning
if you need a motor i got an ls/vtec for sale
