Vtec timing under boost

I have read somewhere that some people have less timing pulled under boost when in vtec then when not in vtec under boost. Is this a a good tuning tactic? If so can you elaborate why its good tactic and could you share some examples?

I keep it the same when im tuning a car.. Generally I found with boosted car that your vtec point is higher.. The only way to tell where the perfect place to set it is on a dyno where you can overlay the high-cam and low-cam torque plots..
