Default Victor X for a single slam

After getting rid of my old hatch, picked up another. Gonna do a built single cam with a billet 5857. My question is, how hard would it be to get a Victor X fabbed up to fit on a single cam. Ive still got a b series X laying around that i was thinkina bout fabbin up. Anyone done this? I havent done too much work with single so this will all be a learning experience for me.

They make one for d series motors. It's not worth the effort to make it fit when you can sell it and buy another one

Thats a perfomer X. its got longer runners and smaller plenum, better suited for N/A appications. Im talking about the Victor X. Short fat runners and big plenum.

The part you need to change is also the hardest to get right. You'd need to get yourself a flange for the head, add the injector rings at the right angles, and then weld them onto the victor X Bseries runners.

IMO, sell it or swap it.

Thats why id use the flange and runners from a good single cam manifold and weld those to the victor x plenum.

I use the performer X on mine and love it... Makes great power. I had a buddy dyno the difference between a stock manifold and the performer X and it picked up almost 50whp with his turbo setup.

Well then, hate to ask but why are you asking if you already know what you're doing? Lol!

By the way, billet 5857 is a good choice.

It's not worth the effort. Runners are different sizes, different angles, injectors need to be repositioned.
Plus the victor x wasn't designed for the d series. Just because it has shorter, larger runners and a bigger plenum doesn't mean it's better. There's a reason they only made the performer x for the d series

Mostly what im looking for is the bigger plenum volume. So id be using flange, runners, injector bosses from a D series manifold, and mating those to the Victor X plenum. Im not tryin to make a 300hp D series. Im looking for 500+.

I applaud you for trying to be different. but in some cases its just wayyyyyy simpler to go with the flow lol.

The best thing I can suggest is download cad files of both flanges and look at how they differ (i have a b-series cad file at home I can supply)

or if you have a d series intake manifold laying around, trace the flange onto cardboard and go from there.

If you are successful or need anything let me know, i'd be curious to try the intake manifold on my d-series once i get my setup locked down
