this probably sounds like a complete newbie questions but how exactly does the turbo differ from the supercharger, from what i gathered the supercharger forces cold air into the intake, whilst the turbo...well i was only used to mustangs so the turbo is belt driven. and also what advantages does each have over the other?

 

supercharger is run by a pully, turbo is run by exhaust gases
