Greddy or apex timer
The original profec b was the most consistant boost controller tested in several reviews I read. I have not read anything about the spec II. The profec b was actually more consistant than the profec a, or the AVC-R which are more expensive and supposed to be "smarter".

I just got my AVCR so i no longer need my Greddy tvc manual controller. Worked well for me. http://www.greddy.com/products...oller) link to greddyd site. Make reasonable offer and its yours. Looks great when you replace your interior light control as well.

Its funny you say that because the 5 or so cars ive seen on the dyno with a profec b had a problem holding steady boost. This is both the old profec b and the new profec b too. i was even lucky enough to see the greddy project ep3's at the dyno and they had problems with their own product
.
Anyways this is just my personal experience and it may just be a coincidence. To each his own

I am running the turboxs 2 stage mbc. Gets a big thumbs up in my book. im looking to the get the innovative ebc in the near future - after i win the lottery

I don't think my car needs a EBC, sure it nice to be able to turn the boost up and down from inside the cabin, but for most street cars a MBC is fine. I hear of alot of problems with peolpe getting the Probec 's to funciton correctly but i have no personal experience.
All know is my $70 boost controler (turbo XS) has never failed me, never spiked, and it's very consistent. If i was maming 350+ I would them be willing to spend the $$ on somethign gear dependant, but for my setup it's not needed.
Turbo timer, well i don't have one, my last turbo gsr had one and it spoiled me because it sucked the first few months of boosting this car, but you gte used to letting it cool down manually.

i'd recommend something with digital display, peak-n-hold.. for turbo timer, i think its just a toy, i run wihtout one, just run your car in vaccum before parking and let it sit for 15-45 seconds and you're good to go.

I have the HKS timer and it rocks. It may be bigger than some of the other rmodels, nut it has speed sensor correcttion, 1/8 and 1/4 mile timer, etc. I am really impressed with it, and I grabbed it real cheap off of egay.
get both apexi products..if the avc-r is hard to use..learn how to use it..takes time to learn how to do or use something right? just like any of use here on h-t..we all started out not knowing how to do swaps or turbo installs...but hey..we all did and it's pretty easy. save a few more extra bucks and go for the best..avc-r and apexi turbo timer.
For a boost controller, Id just go with a MBC like turbo XS. Once you get your car tuned, youre really not supposed to mess with your boost all the time. Just set it, tune it, and leave it. As for turbo timers, just get what ever you can find for the cheapest. They all do the same thing and I doubt your gonna use all the other random functions. Corky Bells book Max Boost, says that you dont even need a turbo timer.
