I usually set mine for 20 seconds. If I needed to run it longer than that I would just wait a little longer to shut it down.

Well i have the hks with auto timer and normally on a easy drive to work (6miles) it ends up around 1 minute 15-40. However it counts up fast when excellerating. If i were to race home same distance would end at like 3-4 minutes. Just what i have found with the hks auto timer.

In the book, Max Boost, Corky Bell says that you only need to let your car idle for about 30 seconds. I'd just set it to 1 minute if I were you, just to be safe.

10mins that is to long. If you want your car still on after you walk around walmart a couple of times. 1min or 1 1/2 will be fine

It depends how hard the turbo is working before you turbo-time your car. If you just did a fourth gear pull at 20+psi, then it's a no brainer that you should turbo-time your car longer.

Usually, before I park my car or turbo-time my car, I take it easy on the turbo. So no boosting 2-3 mins before I park my car. That way, you won't have to turbo-time your car for so long. Usually, when I did that, I just turbo time my car for 3 minutes. And if I did some heavy boosting just beforehand, I let my car turbo-time for 10 minutes.

If you don't have an oil cooler. Get one. Less heat (or more cool oil) for the engine, turbo, lubricating system, etc.
