Turbo Rebuild options?
I was planing on rebuilding a Turbonetics t3/t4 from the Drag kit. We have always shipped to cheapturbo for their rebuild but I found this from a Turbonetics dealer

Would this be a option for rebuilding a turbo? As long as you marked the shaft before you removed the blades to keep it balanced it should be fairly straight forward correct?

not going turbo ehhh....
I would think it would work, but then again, i would get a little timid regarding the shaft being balanced, seeing the RPMs it turns. You know Republic Diesel downtown, Louisville, KY rebuilds turbos, although I think they are primarily a garret distributor. But i know they will balance wheels and even do injector flow benching.

You have to be careful when doing it yourself.
The bearings have to be matched to the shaft perfectly. The wheel balancing isn't the only thing to worry about when rebuilding a turbo.
I rebuilt mine by myself. When I put the new bearings in the CHRA and slid the shaft through them there was too much shaft play. I had to reuse my old bearings, which was fine because the turbo had zero shaft play before the rebuild, just the compressor seal was leaking badly.
Turbo rebuild shops will actually polish the shaft, mic it, and then use bearings that fit perfectly. The bearings have to fit perfectly around the shaft in order to ensure that there is no shaft play.
