Default Turbo Manifold Advice

I need a little bit of manifold advice, I am putting together a turbo kit for a friend, his budget is $2500 for the turbo kit and engine management. its going in a da integra, I believe is has an ls in it, although it may be a b18c (hasn't given me the car's info yet). I know the ssautochrome/ebay/blox etc... are crap manifolds that are very prone to cracking, I need to know what is a good manifold to run that is not overly expensive?

Last edited by drummerdude; Jul 27, 2009 at 09:40 PM. Reason: forgot the c after "b18"

Spoolin Performance SPfab A-SPEC manifold. $550 for a good quality tubular manifold. If you are looking at a top mount they make one for $900, which is about the cheapest of the high quality manifolds that I have seen. Full-race makes some VERY nice manifolds but you are going to be paying 300-400 more for those.

Get a good old fashioned rev-hard kit, or go to peakboost. Be done with it

isnt INLINEPRO's stuff pretty reasonably priced? Peakboost is a good option to, I have had one of their manifolds before and loved it...

cast "log" is fine, better than a sch 10 pipe log, because a pipe log will not have any sort of a collector. a cast manifold will have somewhat of a collector and will make a lot more power!

I don't know what his power goals are yet, just trying to do some prelimanry work, before he answers my 21 questions. can you get rev hard kits for under $2500, sorry I should have mentioned thats $2500 CAD, not USD.

I know this may seem like a stupid questions, I know the stainless ebay manifolds are said to be prone to cracking (my SSautochrome never did), but are the cast ones any good? I want to make sure he gets parts that won't break (unless he wants to try to save some money, his choice)

yup ebay cast manifolds are fine, get the one with better WG placement (the ones with the WG placed closer to the center of the manifold, not the one with the WG on the 1st cylinder runner)

I forgot the c after the b18, I meantto say it either has an ls (b18b) or a b18c.

I said affordable, I just checked and it will kill almost half the budget for just the manifold. LOL

not to thread jack but i have a pretty nice t3/38mm ramhorn for sale made by CRP turbo. very reasonably priced, only used about 3,500mi. search my name in the forced induction classifieds.

my advice is get what you want the first go round.

So what would you guys suggest, the GO-AUTOWORKS mini log and downpipe or the Straight Line Specialties mini log and downpipe? Straight line is about 100usd more.

i would just look into finding a used manifold/downpipe setup

ive seen a couple full race manifolds with downpipes go for 600ish

manifold/dp 600
turbo 400
ic/ic pipes 250 (ebay)
wg 150
bov 100
inj 200
labor 300 (charge pipes etc etc)
lines 100
neptune tune 400'

but dont forget exhaust, clutch etc all parts taht will need to get upgraded

its possible but just keep a look out for used parts and have fun with charge pipes on a DA integra

I have a b series revhard manifold. Used with no cracks or anything. I'd sell it for $100 shipped

i say go with a blox cast mani. they are like 200 and work just fine for an entry level setup. im sure you will want to upgrade in the future but we all start somewhere. i ran a revhard mani for over 2 years before switching to full-race.

I second this. Pfab is great. You can get a 1/4 inch thick stainless log manifold for $250 with a lifetime warranty. Whats not to love?

Makes a big difference how much he is trying to make. If it is a stock engine on boost deal just run a cheap cast log manifold. Go in the F/S:classified forced induction forum. You will find some used quality parts there.
