Default turbo manifold ?

Ok im planning on a homebuilt turbo setup, Im planning on using a t3 turbo on a b16. My problem is trying to decide on a manifold. Ive been noticing most are going for over 400 i was kinda looking into the 200 dollar range but I really dont want to get a pos that is gonna cause me problems, but i also dont wanna get to out of control on spending so if someone could suggest a good manifold within a decent price range. also internal wg, no more than 10psi will be ran. Any comments would be greatly appreciated

I saw a used Max Rev in the for forced Induc classified section. Thats a quality manifold, and can be had at a decent price used.

on the lovefab manifolds, does anyone know anything about them. longevity, quality, and placement of the turbo, does anyone know about cracking because of all the weight on the end of it. anything about ti would be nice.

Ive yet to have a problem w/cracking. My fitment on the log manifolds is OK, not the best, but generally works w/out any major problems. As for cracking/warranty etc, I dont offer a warranty until you get into the stainless log manifolds, which start at $300. The mild ones are stout themselves, but rust sucks, and..ya...

i looked into the lovefab and noticed the ss isnt that much more for the shorty so i think i might go with that, so the warranty would come with the ss shorty style? if so how long is it., i was planning on going t3, but taht will depend on what i find once the planning stage is finished, maybe t3 or a mitsu garret, idk, anyways do u offer flanges for any turbo? and also internal wastegate to keep cost down. thanks. Matt

hey project dc2, is that flanged for t4 adn t3?
i can vouch for Tinker manifolds, i have seen them in person even right next to full race there is no difference i could see in quality and design .
after seeing that, i was hooked and Cody is actually in the works for one for my R now.
i would highly reccomend his manifolds for the quality to money ratio

is there any difference in how much boost a exhaust manifold can handle or produce? Or they can take anything you throw at it?

i dont think its a matter of not handling x amount of boost.
i think its a matter of the effieciency at whatever boost levels.

The manifold is flanged for both. Either a T3 or T4 turbo can be used.

with a T3 super 60 mines pretty damn efficient at 14 psi ( 272 Whp and 223 torque on an LS motor and power is STILL climbing pass redline)

ok on one of the pics above, the shorty stainles style has a spacer under the runners before the turbo and the one on lovefab website doesnt, so which is it a spacer collector area or not?

it can go either way. the lovefab/maxrev way is easy and less chance to crack somethign its just a bitch to cut something at that angle to put hte flange in.

log manifold and efficient are oxymorons. Thelog manifolds are based on "pressure" not flow. Basically, because the engine spews its exhaust gasses inside a "log", and all the pulses are ramming into eachother, pressure is the only positive thing working for spooling the turbo. With a true merge collector, you can choose at what angle you want the pulses to hit the turbine wheel, and "tune" for the utmost performance available.
Log manifold...be ready for creepage/longer spool up.
The toss up though, is price, and ultimate power goal. If youre only pusning 5-7 psi, a log manifold will work great. Nice fit, easy to make AC work. But, anything above that, and itll seriously damper performance....
