you can buy a dynojet and you can tune it yourself easily. here's the website to order one... http://www.dynojet.com
try out http://www.howstuffworks.com it will tell you how a turbo works, what turbo lag is etc, also compares a turbo to a supercharger and so on.

Lag is the time between when you hit the gas and a "rush" of power comes from spooling up the turbo. Superchargers have no "lag" because it is belt driven. Turbo is better. Your brave to ask this question, so I figured I would answer it for you.

I wouldn't worry about lag anyway. Lots of people make a big deal about it, but if you want to race or drive fast, you're going to keep your rpms up high anyway. Boost is almost instant.
The only thing you should worry about in the "lag" area is the size of the turbo. If it's too big for your application, it will never reach full boost.

lag is more of a factor in road racing than it is in drag racing... but lag isnt a big deal until you start going crazy with the turbo, IC piping, and boost. with a "street kit" turbo set up you probably wont even notice lag.
i can get good prices on dynos, just PM me, I'll hook you up. If someone works for fedex, maybe you can hook us up on the shipping too. I think that will be the only limiting factor, these things are kinda big. Let me know guys.
Lag is the period of time you spend in vacuum until the turbo puts you into above atmospheric pressure. Basically people get it confused like your running mad amounts of retarded timing--but its not. Pretty much just N/A until boost comes on.
Heh how much are those dynos anyhow? I'm holding the winning lotto ticket in my hand right now and once I win Imma buy one and you guys can tune at my house for free
