Default Turbo JDM ITR B18c??

Hey so I’ve been really playing with the idea of building a turbo setup. I have a JDM ITR B18c that I swapped into my 99 hatch. Only problem is I’m not sure I want to ruin the ITR engine since they are so hard to come across and really are not that cheap. Should I go with a GSR or b18b/b16 for a turbo setup instead? Or just say screw it and boost it? Just looking for some opinions.

Boost it! I am doing the same. My engine is worth more than my shell, but if I don't get to enjoy it, I'm just saving it for the next guy. I am boosting my ITR swap to keep up with the big dogs at HPDE sessions near me.

Boost it. I’m sure you’re planning to upgrade the internals first

yes but my goal to start is 250-300 range I don’t want anything crazy just yet plus moneys tight with growing up so don’t need to go crazy lol. I’m told stock internals are fine at this range and that’s also what I’ve found out online. But I’ll be sure to check internals and tolerances before boosting it just to play it safe.

I’m going to open it up this winter and check everything and go from there….will upgrade some stuff but probably not all unless I find issues with current internals
