turbo install....starting issues
i installed a drag kit on my h23. I was told to run it only a little above idle to get on trailer to have exhaust work done(having it tuned with hondata s300 after exhaust work). MY question is this.....Before I installed turbo kit, car started on a dime. Now I have kit installed with only a downpipe and it takes FOREVER for the motor to crank. It just turns over 10-25 times before actually starting. Is this normal due to some vaccum or exhaust difference? Should the car start exactly the same as before the install?
I would like to add that in the middle of the install I had back surgery and the car sat for 6 months. The only issue there is bad fuel, but the car was garaged in moderate temperature and humidity. I might be wrong, but i dont think my issue is gas.
its not vacuum or exhaust related as far as ik.....
def wanna find out that that is before cranking over too many more times... maybe check fuel pump, injectors, and such......

is that always a rule, unless tuned, that with a bigger fuel pump you need bigger injectors???
I would think that with a bigger fuel pump and stock injectors, the worst that may happen is I "flood" the cylinders with gas. It shouldnt cause me to not start for that long.....right?????

Wasn't a problem for me. I drove my car around for a week(staying out of boost to make sure I had no leaks and ****) then drove 200 miles to get tuned. Using stock injectors and Walbro 255hp. Car ran/started like stock. Something else is going on here

the car would definitely start and run with stock injectors. the stocks don't really like high pressure tho.
the car should start the same. can u check the vacuum, do u have a boost gauge installed?
maybe somethings taking a **** on u .. i had a similar problem about a year ago, when my car would barely start/not start. It was my dizzy. Have u made sure you're getting a constant spark?
edit - wheres ur fuel pressure at?

I had a guy come look at the gas and he took one wiff and said it was definately bad. I got some fresh gas to compare to and the old gas was much more yellow and WAY more potent smelling than the new gas. He said when gas sits, it turns to almost what amounts to a shiny, potent smelling "shellac". He is pretty confident that is what is causing me to not start like it should.
Im going to drain ALL 15 gallons of gas and put in 5 gallons fresh with stabilizer and injector conditioner. Im also going to change out the fuel filter. We'll see from there.
